I love a good cup of coffee!  Actually I’ve been drinking coffee for a looooong time.  It started as a cultural thing, where my family would have a piece of soft bread topped with butter and a cup of coffee.  It didn’t matter what time of day either, growing up coffee wasn’t just for the mornings. That very love for coffee is still with me but now I know a little more about how to INJOY it.  These days you can get a cup of coffee everywhere, at any time of day but what has become even more popular than the regular cup of coffee is flavored coffee.  Now I’m not going to sit here and tell you I don’t like flavored coffee, I actually love it however I certainly wouldn’t pay upwards of $6-8 dollars for a cup!

To start if you review the ingredients used in that flavored coffee you’ll notice that in addition to the fact the the coffee wasn’t grown organically, rarely is the cream, milk or the sugar used in but that is not even the worse part!  All those “yummy” flavors are nothing more than artificial colors and flavors.  I don’t know about you but I don’t like being ripped off and tricking my body into thinking it has just received something it hasn’t.

What do I do about it?  I make my own flavored coffee, it’s not hard AT ALL.  The hardest part is figuring out what flavor(s) you want.

Select the taste you are going for, our favorite is chai flavored coffee.  I created this yummy blend and I pre-make it since we use it often.
All organic blend (Cinnamon powder or crushed cinnamon sticks, crushed or powdered cardamom pods, clove powder, chopped vanilla beans or add a little vanilla extract to the coffee once made, ginger powder)

  1. Start with a good strong non gmo organic coffee.  TRUST me you will notice the difference.
  2. Use filtered water ONLY.
  3. Proceed to make the coffee as you normally would, add your powdered blend to the ground coffee before brewing (start with 1/2 – 1tsp) and adjust until you find the perfect mix.
  4. Once the coffee has brewed add your (organic/non gmo) cream/milk/sugar or drink it black if you like it that way.

  1. Love it! and although we weren’t allowed to drink it as kids – my parents did and my mom and grandpa drank it all day long like it was water 🙂 We all drink coffee throughout the day – it’s like a comfort drink. Love these suggestions!! Please tell me again the brand of coffee you use…will order promptly!
