My Suggestions:

I save my buttermilk and use it in pancakes, marinating chicken, in place of an egg wash, in addition to a receipe that calls for butter and milk (just use a little less milk to keep the receipe proportions).

Rinse Rinse Rinse your butter

If/when you want to make a bigger batch use your mixer (hand or stand alone).
